i used to live in s. monica and also the larchmont area; to me then westside meant west l.a. and west - or maybe "West of LaBrea"; but now living in silverlake, I think it means "West of Western." I don't think it includes Beverly Hills. To me it meant the exodus to safer, gentrified parts of the l.a. area like santa monica and venice and gradually included Culver City.
