All you guys are fool of crap Carson is messed up!!the city does a great job of hiding the gang problems by having the best graffiti I clean up plan in California....I was raised there I lost such of my friends to murder in Carson.look upthe homicide in last twelve years.more then a 120 murders since...the crime rate violent and stealing is worse then Wilmington and San Pedro gardena..harbor city and u wouldn't notice cus u say its clean and look nice..go passed the 405 to south Carson and its not.its S bad.as any city in south central..look it up..Carson hides all its problems just to have people fooled to moving there..Carson is bad and its only getting worse...
I was raised in Carson in the 70s & 80s. My parents still live behind the university. I love the almost equal diversity of Carson. It's not too far from Long Beach or Redondo Beach. 20 mins from LAX, 30 to John Wayne, 25 to Downtown LA, 25 to West LA, 3 to Long Beach. Very centrally located. My folks live on a hill w/a nice view in northern Carson which is more affluent. The streets are spotless & graffiti-free. There's a Target, Ikea, Cal State, Home Depot Center. The city has it's own bus system. CAMS is a high performing high school. At night, it's very quiet. The Del Amo area is very residential w/only one nice apartment complex. Yet very close to 405, 110 & 710. The grocery stores are horrible and you're pretty much out of luck if you're shopping for clothing. However, Carson must have more plant nurseries than any place on Earth.
The Carson Sheriff are the best...however, do we really need old women volunteers driving around pretending to be officers and wasting tax payers money on non-crime scenarios?
its a nice place to live, just a couple of areas need more attention from the sheriffs like "scottsdale" that place really needs help! but over all a nice urban place to live (b-)
I've lived in Carson from the early 60's to present. I have attended the City schools, churchs, parks, community meetings and social gatherings. Carson has seen urban tribulations as much as any other growing city but overall it's still a good place to live.
I grew up in Carson. It was a great place in the 50's and 60's. I wouldn't want to live there now.
I grew up in carson from 1965-1980. i would not want to move back as it has really gone downhill and i dont feel comfortable visiting anymore. too many gangs and the place has gotten dirty
Carson is good for less crime, lots of safety from the LASD & LAFD,great schools, nice parks, and good freeway connections. The streets are a little dirty and tipical tagging.
