Century City is incredibly safe. The only crime in this neighborhood occurs at the Westfield Mall with thefts from cars in the parking garage. Living on Beverly Glen Blvd. isn't the greatest experience due to the noise from cars using it as their own personal highway. I have had several near-accidents trying to turn into and exit from my apartment complex. I also get the dreaded black dust that shows up on my windowsills, so I will probably die an early death.
Century City has no pedestrian street life to speak of, and there's not all that much of interest to walk to, but there is a Ralphs, a mall, a gas station, a CVS, and a brand new brewpub all in the area.
The area is also served by several bus lines (although no major lines unfortunately on Beverly Glen) and is a major center of employment. My apartment is also incredibly affordable at $1560 a month for 2 bd/1.5 bath.
