Beautiful manicured lawns, well kept property, tremendous views, wonderful neighbors: pluses.
Not enough services for the tax base, poor schools: minus.
Lived here for 20 years...........
I've lived in Ladera for 31 yrs. I grew up in this neighborhood and have loved every min. of it. It is a professional area with educators, executives, entrepreneurs, attorneys, physicians, athletes, entertainers, politicians and the like as its residents. It is a warm, friendly, safe community where you can safely walk, jog, dogwalk and play. Our homes are beautiful with well-kept and manicured lawns and lanscapes. With clean streets and great views, I love Ladera Heights and my fellow neighbors.
Great climate, excellent views, beautiful homes, nice neighbors, safe, pet friendly, and yes, it is one of the best kept secrets in LA County. The County does a good job with sanitation, streets and other services. We sure could use better traffic enforcement by the CHP. Speeding up the hill and down the hill is the only concern. I love LH!
I love Ladera Heights because it's a great neighborhood,we have alot of professional people living here-such as judges, police officers, attorney's, entertainment industry, athletes, and educators, business people. Ladera is a hidden jewel in Los Angeles County,we have beautiful homes, and a diverse community,we take walks, walk our dogs, children play in our neighborhoods, and we care deeply about this area,I would like to mention we have a great Homeowners Association that also keeps us informed about everything that goes on in and around our neighborhood. And lastly,we have a great Sheriff's Dept. that stays on top of everything in our area. The downside of living in Ladera is that we have more traffic on the major streets now,and I wish the Westfield Mall in Culver City ,had better stores, more upscale stores,we have millionaires living in Ladera Heights-you would think our local mall would reflect that, and don't forget about the surrounding communities such as Playa Vista,Marina Del Rey,Westchester,View Park,Baldwin Hills,Windsor Hills, people in these areas have healthy incomes and we have to go to Century City,Beverly Hills,Santa Monica etc.if we want to shop at upscales stores. Westfield did a little updating like adding Bestbuy,Target,Coach, and H&M but I think they could of done a better job. Maybe they did all they could do I really don't know, but when we want to shop upscale we go out of our area.
