West Puente Valley

Tell us what West Puente Valley means to you

  • What makes this a good place to live? What are the downsides?

When my parents moved in to a house here in the 70s (on League Ave, just NE of Amar & Orange) and the real estate agent called this area Valinda at the time. I never once saw the name "West Puente Valley" in print in any phone book or road map prior to it starting to show up on digital/online maps in the 90s (first time I saw the name was on MapQuest). I always viewed the western half of this area as Bassett, and the eastern half of this area as Valinda. However now I found out that Bassett is only a unincorporated community the western part of West Puente Valley. I want to know if the commenter before me (Gary) viewed the area he grew up in as Bassett or West Puente Valley while he was growing up?
