L.A.'s Eastside: Where do you draw the line?

“ I actually describe everything east of the 101 as the Eastside, as the term is only used when in a neutral meeting spot in LA and someone asks you "What part of town are you from?". If already on the "east side", I answer with my neighborhood, but if I'm anywhere west of Los Feliz, I say Eastside just so it's apparent that I'm not from there.

What complicates it more is that it seems Eagle Rock and Highland Park, (event Atwater Village!) etc. are acceptably called NELA (North East LA, at least on Redfin). If Los Feliz, Silver Lake, and Echo Park need somewhere to go, how about we group em in with NELA? It's a similar culture, and crossing a freeway or river shouldn't matter.
