L.A.'s Eastside: Where do you draw the line?

“ East Side to me means East side of the City of Los Angeles. It's an area of mostly Mexican Americans/Chicano culture. It Incorporates the now three communities of Boyle Heights, Lincoln Heights and El Sereno (originally known as East LA) with the City limits ending on Indiana Street. If you want to consider parts outside the CITY and consider parts of the county then you can include the portion called "East LA". all the way to Garfield or wherever that city section ends. If you want to be really broad in your definition then you can keep going till you hit Orange County. ” — J from Currently Pico Rivera formerly Boyle Heights, Feb. 18, 2014, 3:24 p.m.
