L.A.'s Eastside: Where do you draw the line?

“ Grew up in East Los Angeles, and my family lived throughout E.L.A. in the 60s and 70s, in Boyle Heights, the Belvedere area, and adjacent Montebello. Went to schools in E.L.A.; including Roosevelt (in Boyle Heights) AND Garfield in "the nice part" of E.L.A. (adjacent to Montebello, which even though is NOT E.L.A., we still consider part of E.L.A.) Anything west of Downtown L.A. and over the L.A. river bridges, is "the Westside." ” — Jen from Glendale, CA, Feb. 18, 2014, 3:49 p.m.
