L.A.'s Eastside: Where do you draw the line?

“ East LA is a clear answer. There is actually a part of the county that is named East Los Angeles officially. See, its right there on the map! Eastside is a bit more complicated. Eastside for me are locations immediately east of downtown, and veering just slightly north, but only touching the southern tips of HP. I would argue that the loosest definition at the bare minimum is that it is east of the LA river.
