Where does the Westside start?

This city is much bigger than many of the provincial respondents would seem to acknowledge. (I'm particularly amused by people who want to exclude municipalities such as Culver City or Beverly Hills yet include Santa Monica. Where's the logic in that?) Downtown is not the boundary of the city, but the center. There is presumably a reason for the street named "Western" just as there is a street east of Downtown named "Eastern." Hmm. For the record, I live in Palms (Far East Palms, if you will), near Culver City. Most of my friends think I live on the west side. Whatever your definition, I know I'm still privy to the ocean breeze which travels along Venice Blvd., and ends around Fairfax, well past the 405.
